Joined The Briars in 2007 GDC No. 76125

I grew up in Northumberland and obtained my dental degree from Sheffield Dental School in 1999.

On-going education has been a big focus throughout my career, and I have studied further to obtain additional knowledge and diplomas in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implantology and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. I also have an LLM Master's degree in Medical Law and work as a dental advisor for an indemnity organisation. Lately, I have completed a post-graduate diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy.

I joined The Briars in 2007 and love many aspects of dentistry. As such, I have never sought to focus on one particular field or niche as I would miss the variety dentistry allows. I particularly enjoy working with the team of skilled clinicians and specialists that we have at The Briars.

I provide treatments that include cosmetic and restorative dentistry, mainly involving Invisalign® and digital smile design, and non-surgical facial aesthetics.

09 / Patient Concerns

How the practice answers the four most common worries

Will it hurt?
The practice's approach is that procedures, including root canal treatment, should be painless and predictable, completed in a relaxed atmosphere. The team take time to explain breathing, technique, and what to expect throughout — a deliberate calming method that many anxious patients describe as transformative.
Will I be judged?
Many patients describe past anxiety from childhood dental experiences. The team is empathetic and understanding, taking time to put nervous patients at ease so they can feel confident about their care without embarrassment about the state of their teeth.
How much will it cost?
Patients receive a written treatment plan with itemised costs by email shortly after their consultation. Transparent pricing and treatment options are explained in full before anything begins. Finance options are available through Tabeo.
What if I need a lot of work?
Treatment options are explained, sedation is available if needed, and patients are allowed to progress at their own pace. The team take care to explain each step clearly so patients understand exactly what's happening at every stage. Comprehensive care from consultation to completion means everything happens in one place.
